The Location

About the area:
The population of the island is about 2500 people, the town is Lameque at about 11 km from the house, it has a fairly large grocery store, hospital, a couple of service station, library, etc. Just of the bridge to the mainland, at about 20 min from the house is the town of Shippagan, it is a small university town with most services. After that you have Tracadie 35 min., Miramichi 70 min. and Bathurst 70 min. (Air Canada fly to Bathurst).

Extras

Property taxes are about $360/year if it is your primary residence or about $720/year if it is your secondary residence. Electricity is about $2000/year living there year round (heating in winter and A/C in summer). There are no association fees; the other fees are optional like phone, TV, and alarm monitoring.
